About the Book

Wine Country Women of Napa Valley is the first of what will be a series of books from Wine Country Women, LLC. The next in line to be published will be on the women of Sonoma County.

Wine Country Women of Napa Valley is a compilation of family recipes, traditions, and stories from more than 60 Napa Valley women who have infused the region with their leadership, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit. Their stories offer an intimate glimpse into the families behind the vineyards, restaurants, and businesses that define California’s historic wine country. Recipes and full-color photographs embrace the bold and lively spirit of Napa Valley. Each woman featured explains her recipe’s significance and history and offers a tailored wine pairing from a Napa Valley vineyard.

Wine Country Women of Napa Valley includes contributions from some of the valley’s most prominent women and oldest families, including Gina Gallo of E & J Gallo Winery, Hilary Newsom of The PlumpJack Group, Violet Grgich of Grgich Hills Estate, Reagan Rombauer of Rombauer Vineyards, Carissa Mondavi of Continuum Estate, Genevieve Janssens of Robert Mondavi Vineyards, and Shannon Staglin of Staglin Family Vineyards, among many others.

Our hearts are with those affected by the fires in Napa and Sonoma counties. To help give back to this incredible community, a portion of our proceeds will be donated to Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch (JARR). Click on the links below to purchase your copy.

Meet the Cover Artist:

Kelleen Sullivan, a fine artist/figurative painter, has studied art in France, Italy and completed her degree at UC Davis in the Fine Arts. Sullivan has exhibited her paintings in New York City, San Francisco to Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, Bali and Hong Kong.  For over 30 years, her work has been shown and collected worldwide.

Sullivan brings a delicate sense of elegant connoisseurship to the wines as she envelopes her artistic experience in the arts with her sense of excellence for her family’s wines. Today, in the heart of Rutherford lies Sullivan Family Vineyards, one of the few boutique family-owned wineries. Sullivan, and her brother, are proud to continue their father James O’Neil Sullivan’s legacy by developing the vineyards into a world class wine estate.  Its magical presence takes you back to the authentic nature of the true passion for creating rare wines from the oldest growing region in the Napa Valley.

Meet Amanda Harlan:

From a young age, Amanda Harlan pursued her passion for riding horses, which led her to spend years riding Dressage and progressing to join the U.S. Junior Olympic team, for whom she earned both silver and gold medals. Prior to graduating from the University of Southern California, Amanda spent her college years working for Wally’s Wine & Spirits, as well as LVMH, deepening her knowledge of wine. Amanda formally joined the family business in 2014 by working harvest in the BOND cellar. Amanda has now taken on the role of Client Relations for The Mascot, marking the full involvement of the Harlan family domain.
